Frequently asked questions

Are baguette diamonds a good choice?
Baguette diamonds are a step cut prized for clean, elegant lines and an art-deco feel. They read as sleek and architectural, and pair beautifully with round brilliants, as in the Cleopatra.

Is a baguette ring more expensive?
Cost depends on carat, metal and diamond origin rather than the cut alone. The Cleopatra is hand-made to order in solid gold, with lab-grown and natural F VS options priced at checkout.

Can I wear it as a stacking ring?
Yes. Its slim, linear profile sits flush against other bands, so it layers with wedding or eternity rings, or stands alone.

How long does it take to make?
The Cleopatra Baguette Ring is hand-made to order in our Byron Bay Hinterland atelier, usually within 4 to 8 weeks, with free shipping Australia-wide and a lifetime craftsmanship warranty.

Are lab grown diamonds as good as natural diamonds?
Lab grown and natural diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical. Every Lucano diamond is F VS graded. The only differences are provenance and price: lab grown diamonds cost less for the same colour and clarity grade, while natural diamonds carry geological rarity.
What does F VS mean in your diamond grading?
F is the colour grade, the highest 'colourless' tier just below D and E. VS means 'Very Slightly Included', where inclusions are visible only under 10x magnification and not to the naked eye. Every Lucano diamond meets or exceeds this standard.
Where is Lucano jewellery made and how are your diamonds sourced?
Every piece is hand-made in our Byron Bay Hinterland studio by Australian goldsmiths. Our founder is a member of St Eligio, Università e Nobil Collegio degli Orefici jewellery association established in Rome in 1508. Gold is sourced from ABC Refinery (Australia's only LBMA/SGE/COMEX-accredited independent refiner), and every diamond is traceable, RJC-certified, and comes with full chain-of-custody documentation.
What's the difference between 9ct, 18ct, and platinum settings?
9ct gold is harder and more affordable. 18ct gold has a richer warmth and higher gold content (75%). Platinum is the densest and most durable; it doesn't tarnish and develops a soft patina over time. Every Lucano setting holds your diamond with the same goldsmithing precision.
How long does a Lucano hand-made piece take?
Each piece is hand-made to order in approximately 6 to 8 weeks. You can see your specific production and delivery timeline on the product page.
