Frequently asked questions

Is the Imperia Emerald Pendant an emerald gemstone?
No. The centre is an emerald-cut diamond, 6.50 x 4.60mm and 0.15ct, not an emerald gemstone. The step-cut shape gives a clean, architectural look in a solitaire-led setting on a 45cm cable chain.

What is an emerald cut diamond pendant?
An emerald-cut diamond is a rectangular step-cut stone with long, clean facets. The Imperia Emerald Pendant centres one 6.50 x 4.60mm emerald-cut diamond, 0.15ct, designed to rest gently against the collarbone for everyday or evening wear.

Can I choose lab-grown or natural diamonds?
Yes. The pendant is set with your choice of lab-grown or natural F VS diamonds, in 9ct or 18ct yellow, white or rose gold. Made to order in Byron Bay Hinterland, Australia, in 4 to 8 weeks.

How long does it take to make?
Each Imperia Emerald Pendant is hand-made to order in our Byron Bay Hinterland atelier by Australian goldsmiths, in 4 to 8 weeks, with free shipping Australia-wide and a lifetime craftsmanship warranty.

Are lab grown diamonds as good as natural diamonds?
Lab grown and natural diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical. Every Lucano diamond is F VS graded. The only differences are provenance and price: lab grown diamonds cost less for the same colour and clarity grade, while natural diamonds carry geological rarity.
What does F VS mean in your diamond grading?
F is the colour grade, the highest 'colourless' tier just below D and E. VS means 'Very Slightly Included', where inclusions are visible only under 10x magnification and not to the naked eye. Every Lucano diamond meets or exceeds this standard.
Where is Lucano jewellery made and how are your diamonds sourced?
Every piece is hand-made in our Byron Bay Hinterland studio by Australian goldsmiths. Our founder is a member of St Eligio, Università e Nobil Collegio degli Orefici jewellery association established in Rome in 1508. Gold is sourced from ABC Refinery (Australia's only LBMA/SGE/COMEX-accredited independent refiner), and every diamond is traceable, RJC-certified, and comes with full chain-of-custody documentation.
What's the difference between 9ct, 18ct, and platinum settings?
9ct gold is harder and more affordable. 18ct gold has a richer warmth and higher gold content (75%). Platinum is the densest and most durable; it doesn't tarnish and develops a soft patina over time. Every Lucano setting holds your diamond with the same goldsmithing precision.
How long does a Lucano hand-made piece take?
Each piece is hand-made to order in approximately 6 to 8 weeks. You can see your specific production and delivery timeline on the product page.
