Alternanza Marquise Eternity Ring is a full marquise eternity ring handcrafted in our Byron Bay Hinterland atelier. Eleven marquise-cut diamonds alternating with 20 round brilliant pavé diamonds in a continuous crown, in your choice of IGI-certified lab-grown or GIA-certified natural F VS diamonds.

Made to order by Australian goldsmiths in 9ct or 18ct yellow, white, or rose gold, as well as platinum. Choose your diamond origin and ring size (5-10) to begin your bespoke piece.

What is the Alternanza Marquise Eternity Ring inspired by?
Inspired by the laurel crown of Roman antiquity, traditionally worn by emperors and conquerors as a symbol of victory. The marquise diamonds stand in for laurel leaves, with round brilliants nestled between them. "Alternanza" is Italian for the alternating rhythm of the two cuts.

Is the Alternanza a full or half eternity?
Full eternity. Diamonds are set around the entire band, with 11 marquise stones alternating with 20 round brilliants for a continuous crown effect.

Are lab grown diamonds as good as natural diamonds?
Lab grown and natural diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical. Every Lucano diamond is F VS graded. The only differences are provenance and price: lab grown diamonds cost less for the same colour and clarity grade, while natural diamonds carry geological rarity.
What does F VS mean in your diamond grading?
F is the colour grade, the highest 'colourless' tier just below D and E. VS means 'Very Slightly Included', where inclusions are visible only under 10x magnification and not to the naked eye. Every Lucano diamond meets or exceeds this standard.
Where is Lucano jewellery made and how are your diamonds sourced?
Every piece is hand-made in our Byron Bay Hinterland studio by Australian goldsmiths. Our founder is a member of St Eligio, Università e Nobil Collegio degli Orefici jewellery association established in Rome in 1508. Gold is sourced from ABC Refinery (Australia's only LBMA/SGE/COMEX-accredited independent refiner), and every diamond is traceable, RJC-certified, and comes with full chain-of-custody documentation.
What's the difference between 9ct, 18ct, and platinum settings?
9ct gold is harder and more affordable. 18ct gold has a richer warmth and higher gold content (75%). Platinum is the densest and most durable; it doesn't tarnish and develops a soft patina over time. Every Lucano setting holds your diamond with the same goldsmithing precision.
How long does a Lucano hand-made piece take?
