The Aurelia Emerald Halo Ring is a radiant-cut halo engagement ring handcrafted in our Byron Bay Hinterland atelier. A radiant-cut centre stone, framed by 2 larger and 24 smaller hand-set pavé diamonds, in your choice of IGI-certified lab grown or GIA-certified natural diamonds.

Made to order by Australian goldsmiths in 9ct or 18ct yellow, white, or rose gold, as well as platinum. Is the centre stone emerald-cut?
Despite the ring's name (Aurelia Emerald Halo), the centre stone is actually a radiant-cut diamond — a rectangular shape with brilliant-cut faceting for sparkle, not the step-cut facets of an emerald-cut. The shape is similar but the faceting is different.

What is the difference between radiant-cut and emerald-cut?
Both are rectangular, but radiant-cut has brilliant-cut faceting (sparkle-led) while emerald-cut has long, step-cut facets (clarity-led). The Aurelia uses radiant-cut for more fire than a true emerald-cut would give.

Are the diamonds certified?
Yes. Lab grown diamonds are IGI-certified at E VVS1. Natural diamonds of 0.30ct or above are GIA-certified at F VS1 or E VS2.

Can I choose between lab grown and natural diamonds?
Yes. The Aurelia Emerald Halo Ring is offered with either IGI-certified lab grown diamonds (E VVS1) or GIA-certified natural diamonds (F VS1 or E VS2), at 0.50, 1.00, or 1.50ct centre weights.

Are lab grown diamonds as good as natural diamonds?
Lab grown and natural diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical. Every Lucano diamond is F VS graded. The only differences are provenance and price: lab grown diamonds cost less for the same colour and clarity grade, while natural diamonds carry geological rarity.
What does F VS mean in your diamond grading?
F is the colour grade, the highest 'colourless' tier just below D and E. VS means 'Very Slightly Included', where inclusions are visible only under 10x magnification and not to the naked eye. Every Lucano diamond meets or exceeds this standard.
Where is Lucano jewellery made and how are your diamonds sourced?
Every piece is hand-made in our Byron Bay Hinterland studio by Australian goldsmiths. Our founder is a member of St Eligio, Università e Nobil Collegio degli Orefici jewellery association established in Rome in 1508. Gold is sourced from ABC Refinery (Australia's only LBMA/SGE/COMEX-accredited independent refiner), and every diamond is traceable, RJC-certified, and comes with full chain-of-custody documentation.
What's the difference between 9ct, 18ct, and platinum settings?
9ct gold is harder and more affordable. 18ct gold has a richer warmth and higher gold content (75%). Platinum is the densest and most durable; it doesn't tarnish and develops a soft patina over time. Every Lucano setting holds your diamond with the same goldsmithing precision.
How long does a Lucano hand-made piece take?
