Frequently asked questions

What does Giro mean?
Giro is Italian for "turn" or "round." The Giro Diamond features a continuous turn of diamonds around the entire band, qualifying it as a full eternity ring.

Is the Giro a wedding band or anniversary ring?
At 0.93ct total diamond weight, the Giro reads as a substantial anniversary eternity ring or major wedding band. It pairs cleanly with Lucano engagement rings.

Natural or lab-grown?
Both options are offered. The price difference is meaningful at this carat weight: lab-grown delivers the same look at 50-70% of the natural price.

How long does it take to make?
Each Giro Diamond is hand-made to order in our Northern Rivers studio. Lead times typically run 4 to 6 weeks. Free shipping Australia-wide once dispatched, with Lucano's lifetime craftsmanship warranty.

Total Diamond Weight: 0.93 ct

Are lab grown diamonds as good as natural diamonds?
Lab grown and natural diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical. Every Lucano diamond is F VS graded. The only differences are provenance and price: lab grown diamonds cost less for the same colour and clarity grade, while natural diamonds carry geological rarity.
What does F VS mean in your diamond grading?
F is the colour grade, the highest 'colourless' tier just below D and E. VS means 'Very Slightly Included', where inclusions are visible only under 10x magnification and not to the naked eye. Every Lucano diamond meets or exceeds this standard.
Where is Lucano jewellery made and how are your diamonds sourced?
Every piece is hand-made in our Byron Bay Hinterland studio by Australian goldsmiths. Our founder is a member of St Eligio, Università e Nobil Collegio degli Orefici jewellery association established in Rome in 1508. Gold is sourced from ABC Refinery (Australia's only LBMA/SGE/COMEX-accredited independent refiner), and every diamond is traceable, RJC-certified, and comes with full chain-of-custody documentation.
What's the difference between 9ct, 18ct, and platinum settings?
9ct gold is harder and more affordable. 18ct gold has a richer warmth and higher gold content (75%). Platinum is the densest and most durable; it doesn't tarnish and develops a soft patina over time. Every Lucano setting holds your diamond with the same goldsmithing precision.
How long does a Lucano hand-made piece take?
Each piece is hand-made to order in approximately 6 to 8 weeks. You can see your specific production and delivery timeline on the product page.
